Our coffee is roasted by us at our London based coffee roastery. We roast twice a week in small batches and deliver it to our cafes so that it is served as fresh as it possibly can be.
Our cafes also have a bakery on-site so that our cakes & pastries can be baked fresh in-house every single morning before we open up our doors.
Time flies by so fast. We can't believe that it's almost been 5 years since Grind opened its doors in Putney SW15.
So... It's PARTY TIME!
One night in November, we've decided to combine the 5 year anniversary of Grind opening, and the 1 year anniversary of the big refurbishment.
Keep your eyes pealed for the date & time, we'll announce it on our twitter @GrindCoffeeLDN.
We'll also keep all the latest announcements and news posted on the home page, so that you always know what's going on at Grind.
In August 2014, Grind added yet another branch to its empire, Grind Roast Works, our very own coffee roasting facility in Wandsworth.
Running the operation is Benjamin Brooker, who is very well known in the London coffee scene. Ben (originally from New Zealand - it's no secret, he supports the All Blacks) gathered all of his knowledge whilst working in Sydney, Australia. He met Dave through some mutual friends in London, then teamed up to make Grind's already loved coffee even better.
Now, you can also enjoy Grind Coffee at home. Check out our online store and get freshly roasted coffee shipped directly to your door.
Our 'Basic Barista Course' is designed to help you appreciate your local barista that little bit more. During this class you will learn about all the factors that go into making a great cup of coffee.
This will include espresso based and pour-over style coffees. We'll also cover some of the basic skills of latte art and show you how to pour a beautiful rosetta or tulip in your coffee.
This is a very hand's on course, providing plenty of opportunities to make coffee. Hopefully you'll leave with a little more knowledge on how to make a great cup, at home or at work.
Our Caveman espresso blend was created by owner Dave Dickinson with one type of person in mind - the high street coffee drinker.
We wanted to create an espresso that met all the requirements for a perfect cup, but when adding 8 ounces of milk, you still have that 'I'm drinking a cup of coffee' feeling.
This blend consists of Brazilian, Guatemalan , El Salvador, and Kenyan coffees .
Kenya Thunguri AB is a single estate coffee, served in all of our cafes as a filter option.
Drinking this will remind you that coffee is the seed of a fruit. The aroma is full of blackberry jam. In the cup you will find blackcurrant flavours, which coupled with the lemon & lime acidity, creates a slick, juicy body.
This Kenyan coffee also plays a critical part in our caveman espresso blend. As a 10% contribiting factor, when blended with the other components in the blend, it adds that nice acidic punch through the milk in a flat white or a latte.
The El Salvador Finca El Ingenio is also served in all of our cafes as a single estate filter option.
This coffee will give you a completely different experience to our Kenya Thunguri. With this coffee we have found a lovely lemon curd quality, creamy yet tart. The green apple acidity in this cup creates a clean aftertaste and with a syrupy body, this has become a favourite at the roastery.
This also adds around a 20% contributing factor to our Caveman espresso, adding those lovely sweet chocolate flavours. Which everybody loves.
